Iffer
music is difficult to describe,
an eccentric refusal to decide what
genre it belongs to, or even who it
is for. Passionate, funny, romatic,
obnoxious and vulnerable, Iffer delivers
giddy vocals over electronic beats,
sound collage of nature processed in
a computer, sage advice, and looks forward
to forming a band with real instruments
such as cello, marimba, and harp.
You
may have seen Iffer perform at
venues and festivals including; Wisehall
for Sistahood 2003, Carnegie Community
Centre, Vans Warp Tour, Rock for Choice
(Sonar), Soma for Open;Inputs,
Rocky Mountian Train Station for Van
Gala, and Whey-Ah-Wichen (Cates Park)
for Under the Volcano.
Active
in the First Nations Youth community,
Iffer
co
produced a compilation CD "2 B
INSPIRED, IS TO INSPIRE!"as
well as some beat making workshops
with Nikky E
for
KAYA's Youth Music Studio in 2006.
Iffer
uses collaboration as a creative
tool to indulge eclectic tastes. Sonic
storms ranging from dark and grim to
bright and optimistic, often full of
strange but beautiful uncertainties
flow
into microphones and out of laptops
whenever this sultry siren is on stage
(as seen below with Eliza Smile MC,
who perform together as WINgIT).

Inspiring
influences include; Amina,
Sigur Ros, Coco Rosie, Björk,
The Sundays, Origami Republika, Tanya
Tagaq, Download, Not Breathing, Ella Fitzgerald,
the Cure, Current93, Nick Drake, Múm,
Ladytron, The Rachels, Alarm Will Sound,
Swans, Stockhausen, Matmos, Dandiwind,
Negativland, Peaches, Weevie Stonder,
PTV/Throbbing Gristle, Longmont Potion
Castle, Ween, Crack:We Are Rock, Muzlimgauze
and Coil.
In
2007,
Iffer continues to work toward her own
vision while seeking to enhance alliances
with other artists.
Enjoy!
