Well, since my last post, I have run headlong into a full time career as a florist.
I have not stopped making music, and I have only become more inspired and excited about my creative output.
I have just bought a retail store called Pollination, on West Georgia Street.
You will find me there, listening to great tunes, often made by me or my friends, singing my heart out and blisfully fluttering around the flowers.

Last Sunday, I had the privilege of attending and florally furnishing the Ill-Esha Perfect Circuit CD release party.

Click here to see more flower photos from this event, thanks to Luke Moloney & Whitney Sobool.

Ill-Esha's party inspired me to seek out more work crafting floral fashion for music and other public events and parties, and her music made me crave to complete my own debut CD. I'm so proud and blessed to be surrounded by an endless stream of talented people of every persuasion and creed.

Tansi, Takk, and Merci Beaucoup!

I am participating in the 30 days project this year. Basically, it is a group of artists committing to complete one piece per day. Some people do drawings, paintings or other visual art. Some people do music, some a piece of writing.
This year, I am focusing primarily on music, but I might decide sumbmit photographs of tangible things I make such as "food sculpture" "garden art" and floral design as well on certain days, as these are forms of art as well, and I'd like to commit some time to refining my skills in that respect as well.

So many interesting people are doing it, and I am excited to see what comes of it!!
My first submission is here.

Seems life is continuing to surprise me around every turn.
My mind is feeling introverted, but my spirit is outward bound!
Winds of change and transformation are swirling around my head like the currents round Turtle Island!

My evolution is speeding up, and all of the sudden I have all these live gigs that I didn't know I was ready for! I never look a gift horse in the mouth, so as opportunities come up, I sieze them!

Last week was a flurry of amazing activity as the Talking Stick Festival swooped in and reminded us of the amazing beauty our first nations culture, both modern and traditional!
I saw performances that moved me to tears, sadness, inspiration and laughter flavoring each drop.

My shows were great too! Despite a shaky start at RIME, I still had fun and was able to share my gifts, and witness the stunning calibre of our young artists and their true to the heart expressions.
Of course, I aced it at WISEHALL on Sunday, along with so many of Sandy Scofeild's beautiful and talented friends! What an honor to share that stage with some of the city's best musicians!
My set was around 20 minutes, and I sang my little heart out, performing my favorite songs, and even belted out Glorybox by Portishead which was a hit with the crowd!

Now I am dying to form a real band, or at least aquire an accompianist, so I don't have to rely on my laptop and suitcase full of gear all working perfectly. Just doesn't make sense to take more time setting up a show than perfroming it!
Now I must run and work on my upcoming shows !

2007 is treating me well so far! This week I begin my floral design level 2 course, and my music calendar is filling faster than I expected.

I am currently preparing for 2 gigs (Feb 8th for the KAYA showcase @ Rime and Feb 11th at the Wisehall for the closing feast) at the Talking Stick Festival, a celebration of First Nations Arts.

My side projects, WINgIT and Blackfreestyle are both progressing marvelously, and I hope to have releases for both available by summer!
